Easter Sunday 2009

Another busy day on Sunday. We woke up way too early to get ready for a full day of Easter activities. We started the day off by eating a traditional Polish Easter breakfast with eggs, Kielbasa, bread and a variety of other foods. Sarah shared her eggs with mommy and daddy and she was happy to try kielbasa, a Polish sausage, for the first time.
After breakfast, we all got dressed and headed out the door to attend a Easter service at a church on the island. The church was packed with families but we were able to get a nice seat near the edge so that Blanka could get up and walk with Sarah during the sermon. Sarah behaved very nicely and hardly made any noise.
After church, we drove all the way to the cemetary in Queens to pay respects to Sarah’s grandma. We then decided to drive around to several people’s houses to drop off party favors from Sarah’s party that we forgot to give out at the end of her birthday celebration. Unfortunately, out of the 3 houses we wanted to visit, no one was home.
We drove home and started Easter dinner preparations. While the ham was cooking, Sarah went for her very first bike ride to the corner mailbox. Sorry about the shaky footage and the interlaced footage. I also know the date is wrong at the end, but I was in a rush. oh well…

We finished off the day with a nice Easter dinner with the entire family. It was a great day, but so busy and so very tiring!
