Our Day and the Bank Statement

Saturday, July 19th, 2008 | Uncategorized | | No Comments

We spent the morning at the Source Mall. Blanka had to return some stuff at Old Navy and Carters. Of course we had to stop by Golf Galaxy for some stuff for daddy. When we got home, we helped Grandma and Grandpa with some gardening work and we helped pick some cucumbers as we do every year around this time.

After a brief break, I set off to put together the exersaucer that we received from my coworkers. Sarah seemed to like it, but I think she’s still a few weeks away from really enjoying this new toy.

Oh BTW, Sarah got a bank statement today. She got 12 cents of interest and boy was she excited to hear that. You should’ve seen my kid looking at her bank statement. She might have a future in finance!

Borders

The whole family woke up early on Sunday morning and instead of lounging around the house, we packed up and headed out to borders book store. We stopped off at the bagel store right next door and sat outside eating everything bagels and coffee while watching some sort of biker meetup happening at the parking lot. Sarah didn’t seem to mind the hundreds of bikers or the loud harley exhausts. She looked at them indifferently and probably hoped it was a mustang meetup instead. 😉 We finished breakfast and went to the book store. We then proceeded to buy crazy amounts of books for Sarah. I had to pick up a new John Mayer DVD for myself, but when we got home, it appeared Sarah enjoyed it more than me. Look at the pictures of her watching the concert.

100 Days

Thursday, July 10th, 2008 | Uncategorized | | No Comments

Sarah reached 100 days today! In Korean tradition, the 100 day celebration is a very big occassion so the whole family had a party in Sarah’s honor. We read the bible, sang hymns had a family prayer and then enjoyed some great food.

BBQ

Saturday, July 5th, 2008 | Uncategorized | | No Comments

We had a bbq today so that we could catch up with some friends we haven’t seen in a while. It was a small but fun affair with a lot of food, laughs and a whole bunch of Rock Band on my xbox360. Sarah enjoyed herself, but it was too much fun and excitement for her for one day. She had a little meltdown later in the evening because she was too tired. Blanka got her to settle down and we soon packed up the plastic drum kit and I took a quick test drive of Andrew and Angela’s brand new BMW X3. Pictures of the BBQ can be found here.

As promised… here are the pictures of Sarah’s new high chair and bumbo.

Sarah’s First 4th

Friday, July 4th, 2008 | Uncategorized | | No Comments

Happy 4th of July! Sarah celebrated her first Independance day with an Oh family bbq. She started the day cleaning the house with Blanka. She sat patiently while Blanka spoke on the phone with her friend Michelle. She then learned how to wrap corn on the cob with aluminum foil and then enjoyed some steak with the grandparents. Afterwards, we headed over to our local buybuybaby and purchased a few things for Sarah – a bumbo seat, a high chair and a booster seat. I’ve added some pictures in the gallery section. Pictures of the high chair and stuff to come later.

3 Months Old!

Sarah turned 3 months old today! It’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun… it could also be the lack of sleep. 😉

Bath Time

Sunday, June 29th, 2008 | Uncategorized | | No Comments

Sarah had her first “real” bath today. We took the infant holder off the bathtub and we put Sarah in. She really liked being in the water and didn’t cry at all. In fact, she seemed to be more comfortable in the warm bath.

Visit and BBQ

What a great day. Earlier this morning Sarah was visited by Uncle Steve and Auntie Irene. They came early in the morning bearing food and drink. We all hung out for a few hours chatting about life’s happenings. Soon after they left, Blanka and I got Sarah ready for a bbq at my boss’s house in Suffolk county. It was really hot and humid out with a threat of a thunderstorm, but the rain held off long enough for us to fill our bellies with clams, shrimp, sausage, and chicken. Sarah was such a good little girl in the new environment. She met so many new people today and she proved that she was a real social butterfly.
